Delete your account

JustePart — last updated: 21 October 2026

Two taps, from the app. Open JustePart, then Settings › Account › “Delete my account”. Your account is closed immediately, and whatever is left of it on our servers, the backup of your personal space included, is erased within 30 days, then from our encrypted backups at most 90 days later — about four months in all. If you no longer have the app, write to us: contact@justepart.com.

From the app

  1. Open JustePart on your phone.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Open Account.
  4. Tap “Delete my account”, then confirm.

As soon as you confirm, your sessions are closed on all your devices, your place in the household is freed, and nothing synchronises any more.

You can change your mind for 30 days. As long as nothing has been erased, just sign in again with the same address — email link, “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”: your account is restored as it was, and your place in the household is given back to you if it is still free. The app tells you so on screen.

Erasing what is on the phone too

Your budget lives first on your device, in an encrypted database. Deleting the account does not touch it: your data stays on this phone, but your personal space is no longer backed up on our servers — a previous joint budget never was. To erase the phone itself: Settings › My data › “Erase everything on this device”. You can first keep a copy with Settings › My data › “Keep a copy”.

Uninstalling the app also erases this data: it is not backed up to your Google account.

What is erased, and when

Straight away: your sessions and devices are revoked, your account is closed, your place in the household is freed. Nothing can be read or changed any more.

Within 30 days, permanently erased from our servers:

Those 30 days are a safety margin, so that a deletion made by mistake or on a lost phone can still be reversed. Just sign in again with the same address: the account is reopened, with its identifier, and the joint budget found again, as is the backup of your personal space. Two cases where the household does not come back, and the app says so: your partner has let someone else take your place, or the household has been closed in the meantime — the account then comes back on its own. After 30 days, there is nothing left to restore.

As long as your partner stays in the household, the joint budget is not erased: it is their data too. Your account does go — the place you held is no longer linked to anyone. The joint budget disappears the day the household’s last account is deleted.

What your partner keeps, and for how long. Two things of yours then stay in their budget, with no time limit: the first name you gave in that household, and your share. They name and split months they keep on reading; removing them would falsify their own history. Your reference income, on the other hand, is erased at the same time as your account: it has no use without you.

Invitations: the email address you entered to invite someone is erased as soon as the invitation is accepted or cancelled, and at most an hour after it expires; the record of the invitation itself is erased within 90 days.

The server’s encrypted backups, made every night so that the database can be restored after an incident, are kept for 90 days, then erased: whatever has been erased from the database disappears from them at most 90 days later.

What remains: the server’s technical logs (IP addresses, response codes), which rotate by size — fifty megabytes per service, the oldest disappearing as they go. The history of your Couple+ purchases is held by the app store, not by us.

What about the Couple+ subscription?

Deleting your account does not cancel an ongoing Couple+ subscription: it is managed by the app store you took it out from — Apple’s App Store (Settings › your name › Subscriptions) or Google Play (Google Play › Subscriptions) — and that is where it must be cancelled, before or after the deletion. The lifetime purchase, for its part, has nothing to cancel.

If you no longer have the app

Lost phone, app uninstalled, new device: write to contact@justepart.com from your account’s email address, with “account deletion” in the subject line.

We delete the account, the backup of your personal space and the server copy that depends on it within 30 days, and confirm it to you by reply. Writing from the account’s address is our only way of checking that the request really comes from you: we cannot act on a request sent from another address.

The same address handles your other rights: access, rectification, erasure, portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
